Kintampo WaterFalls
Kintampo Waterfalls, located in the Bono East Region, is one of Ghana's tallest and most scenic natural attractions. It is formed by three main drops on the Pumpum River, with the tallest single drop reaching 25 metres and a total descent of approximately 70 metres over rocky steps. The Experience Three-Stage Exploration: The first two stages are easily accessible via level paths. The third and most spectacular stage requires descending a staircase of approximately 173 steps (and climbing about 151 steps back up). Canopy Walkway: Ghana's only waterfall featuring a canopy walkway, offering breathtaking aerial views of the cascades and surrounding mahogany forest. Recreation: Visitors can swim in natural plunge pools at the base of the falls or enjoy designated picnic areas. By Car: Driving typically takes between 6.5 and 8.5 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions via the N6 and N10 highways. By Air + Road: For a faster trip, fly from Accra to Kumasi (~45 mins) or Sunyani, then take a taxi or bus to Kintampo (approx. 3–4 hours from Kumasi).
