Spanning 115 acres of serene farmland, the museum is designed not just as an archive, but as a "sacred healing space" for restorative justice and spiritual reflection. Key Attractions & Exhibits The Nkyinkyim Installation: The museum's centerpiece features over 1,500 life-sized concrete heads and approximately 3,000 terracotta sculptures. These faces represent enslaved African ancestors, capturing raw expressions of shock, pain, and resistance. The Ancestral Village: A dedicated area where visitors are often asked to remove their footwear as a sign of respect. It includes models of indigenous architecture and artworks honoring various African civilizations. Monuments of Greatness: The entrance features three 25-foot monuments inspired by Sudano-Sahelian, North-East African, and West African forest architecture, celebrating the diversity of the continent's history. History Wall: A visual narrative of African history that includes depictions of heroes, musicians, and activists who fought for African liberation. Global Connection: A segment of this installation is permanently displayed at the National Memorial for Peace and Justice in Montgomery, Alabama, connecting the museum's mission to the broader African Diaspora.
